The Dormitory Authority, State of New York (DASNY) selected Pavarini McGovern to serve as the construction manager to administer the first phase of a four-year exterior rehabilitation project of buildings A, B, C and T. Our project team performed the work on occupied, functioning hospital buildings. The scope of work included window and roof replacement, exterior door replacement, and masonry façade restoration and stabilization. Distinctive architectural detailing that we renovated then restored and cleaned included embossed lead spandrel panels and clay roofing tiles on pitched roofs. The first phase of the work was valued at approximately $4 million.
This project is part of the overall $20 million redevelopment, modernization and expansion program of the Kings County Hospital Center. The Center is the anchor facility for the Central Brooklyn Family Health Network.
Pavarini McGovern worked with DASNY to achieve construction participation of 15% minority business enterprises (MBEs) and 5% women-owned business enterprises (WBEs) regional and local consultants, trade contractors, vendors and suppliers.
