Pavarini
McGovern routinely provides budgeting and cost estimating services
for our clients. We may analyze the project, the site, and/or the
financial limits and then work with the design team to achieve their
goals. The budget or cost estimate is itemized by CSI trade categories
with unit quantities or allowances (as justified by the level of
detail on any submitted design documents), and unit prices reflecting
actual contract awards for similar work. The budget or cost estimate
can be developed in conjunction with any outline specifications,
sketches, notes or discussions of design intent and anticipated
design direction with the owner or design team.
Pavarini McGovern can provide budgets with sufficient detail and
breakdowns, including general conditions and contingency costs for
the project. The budget can be broken down, for example, by building
or for both new and renovation work, and interior finishes work with
all special features identified separately.
Construction costs are compared with our own extensive database
of costs from pricing a wide spectrum of construction work in the
New York Metropolitan region, as well as industry databases, identifying
elements where costs may appear high and suggest ways to reduce
them.
Where appropriate, we may allow selected trade contractors to informally
review relevant scope of work and give a "snapshot" of
what they think that work would cost, without making a commitment
to any one particular trade contractor. Potential finishes, materials,
systems, equipment and fixtures selection will be identified and
finalized for current market pricing. |
